By Michael Mongera
The eve of the 1st Annual Erie "Quarter Quell" went off without a hitch.
On August 21, the Annual Miss Erie Drag Pageant celebrated its silver anniversary after 25 years of crowned queens at The Zone Dance Club, 133 W 18th St, Erie, PA.
To raise the stakes, Miss Erie took a Hunger Games-style "Quarter Quell" to bring a cast of past winners to the stage. One ultimate "Supreme" shall rule again amongst the winner pool.
Former Miss Eries, Debbie Does Drag, and Shea D'Heaux took the stage to duke it out for a spot as Miss Erie Supreme.
Former Miss Erie's Rebecca Mae, Alejandra J Love, and Misty Michaels Kall performed during intermission sessions, along with newcomer performer, Ann Ziety.
After a stellar showing for the textiles district "District 8", Shea D'Heaux received a standing ovation upon entrance to the stage. Her gown was immaculately tailored with 4,000 individually placed sunflower petals.
With the roar of the crowd to support her, Shea D' Heaux was crowned as the first Miss Erie Supreme, adding two crowns to her collection. The first alternative was Debbie Does Drag.
