Laurie Finch

Laurie Finch

Laurie Finch (she/her) volunteers with Erie Gay News because she values being part of the important process of getting each issue into the hands of readers. She especially enjoys attending monthly folding sessions as a way to meet new friends and reconnect with familiar faces. Laurie also volunteers with Aging With Pride Erie, where she helps plan events and participates in the AWP Legacy Project, which collects written and oral histories of Erie's LGBTQ+ community for archives at Penn State Behrend. A longtime community advocate, Laurie was a founder of the LBT Women of Erie and let that organization for five years. She previously served on a commission that spoke with former State Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper about important LGBTQIA+ issues affecting the community. Laurie has appeared in news interviews and participated in protests throughout the years. Outside of volunteering, she enjoys photography, yard work, and travel.
