On Saturday. June 14, NW PA Pride Alliance organized the 22nd Annual Erie Pride Picnic at the Rotary Pavilion at Presque Isle State Park.Members of the LGBT community and their friends, family and supporters enjoyed a fun day with a great potluck.

6th Annual Youngstown Pride Festival
On Saturday, June 7, 2014, board members of NW PA Pride Alliance traveled to Youngstown OH to join our Ohio friends for the 6th Annual Youngstown Pride Festival. It was a wonderful parade and street fair. Other organizations present included West Side Cats Rescue and Adoption No-Kill Cat Shelter, Brandy Rosine Memorial Page, Youngstown Mineshaft, Equality Ohio, The First Unitarian Universalist Church of Youngstown OH, YSUnity LGBTQIA, Blazing River Freedom Band and many more! Meadville City Council considers non-discrimination ordinance
MEADVILLE, Pa. June 18-Meadville City Council decided 3-2 to research and review a proposed nondiscrimination ordinance for that city. At present, Meadville does not have an ordinance against discrimination in housing, employment, or public accommodations. The proposed Meadville ordinance would provide protections on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, sex, religion, ancestry, genetic information, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, familial status, marital status, age, mental or physical disability, use of guide or support animals and/or mechanical aids Some social conservatives have aggressively organized against the proposed ordinance because of the (continued on page 3) inclusion of sexual orientation as a protected category. The June 18 meeting drew a couple hundred people.
