Proud Haven Set to Have Major Fundraising Event on July 10
Pittsburgh, PA – Proud Haven, Pittsburgh's leading resource for shelter and support services for homeless lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) youth is hosting a brunch and silent auction at 5801 Video Lounge and Café in Shadyside on Sunday, July 10, 2016 beginning at 12:00pm. The event admission price is $25 which includes brunch, your first Bloody Mary or mimosa, and discounted drinks. The highlight of the afternoon consists of a silent auction that has a variety of items including a boxing glove signed by Sylvester Stallone, tickets to upcoming musicals, sports memorabilia, and autographed items from people like Cyndi Lauper and Antonio Brown! The event will also feature live entertainment from local sensation Jude Benedict.

Pittsburgh, PA – Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto and Proud Haven, a local nonprofit organization, have proclaimed Wednesday, April 27, 2016 "40 to None Day" in the City of Pittsburgh, with the goal of bringing the percentage of homeless youth who identify as LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer) from 40% to none. Studies have repeatedly shown that up to 40 percent of the approximate 1.6 million youth experiencing homelessness each year in the United States identify as LGBTQ+, yet they make up only 5-7 percent of the general youth population.
