GEAE Intersections of Equality Symposium on Oct 12-13

from Greater Erie Alliance for Equality

The Greater Erie Alliance for Equality (GEAE) will host the 2017 Intersections of Equality professional development Symposium: Increasing LGBT Competency in Care for Seniors, on Thursday and Friday October 12-13. The event will bring together health professionals and allies whose work seeks to improve the lives of older adults in our communities. Through the professional development portion of the symposium on Friday from 8am-5pm, GEAE will educate professionals on the unique perspectives needed when working with older adults with diverse gender identities and sexual orientations as they approach retirement, enjoy their golden years, and prepare for estate planning, long-term care, and end of life decisions. The Thursday evening segment of the symposium will be a community-orientated event that will include a screening of the documentary Major! and a panel discussion of area professionals. Both days are priced separately. The symposium will be held at the Manufacturers Association Conference Center 2171 W 38th St, Erie, PA. GEAE will regularly update our page with meeting times and activity schedules. Tickets will be available at the end of August at greatereriealliance.com
