New Film Sheds Light on Lesbian and Gay Couples' Struggle with the Complexities of Having a Baby in Ant-Gay Italy.

Ariztical Entertainment is excited to announce the June 9th North American DVD and Digital release of Italian filmmaker Silvio Alfonso Nacucchi's first feature film Beyond Love.

The film portrays the challenges of gay and lesbian couples living in Italy where LGBT couples have no rights and live in a culture dominated by influence from the Catholic Church. Nacucchi explores this political issue through a very personal lens, which he set out to accomplish by doing extensive research about queer relationships and challenges, collecting personal stories that in some instances became part of the project.

Michael Jack Shoel, President of Ariztical, notes that Beyond Love caught his attention because it appears unconventional from the first frame. It's also unique in the way it portrays the erotic life of both gay and lesbian couples rather than primarily focusing on one or the other.

The film centers around long-term couple Anna and Marina who want to have a baby and decide to turn to their gay best friends Stefano and Tony for help with artificial insemination. When financial obstacles make it impossible, Stefano suggests that Marina sleep with a man but she angrily dismisses it and disappears. Stefano, in an attempt to make it up to Marina, engages in prostitution to raise money. Arguments and quarrels lead the couples to the hospital where they realize their mistakes and face the worrying consequences of their behavior.

Due to the strong sex scenes, Nacucchi embarked on a long casting process and auditioned around 300 people to find the right chemistry. After finding the actors, they had a long rehearsal process for six months in order to achieve great emotional authenticity. During that time he also collaborated with the actors on every part of the script and gave them the freedom to improvise. The overall goal of that process was to create a film where the audience could "assimilate" inside the story and become a part of it.

The DVD release of Beyond Love (SRP $24.99) will include a behind-the-scenes featurette.
