Natsuya Uesugi, a science fiction author, finds the fight for equal rights fills him with a sense of hope and purpose. Uesugi decided that he needed to do his part to help the struggle in some way and so decided to include gay and transgendered characters in his book "Grydscaen."
Taking place in the future, brothers on opposite sides of a post-nuclear war struggle for victory and power. Although the book offers interesting thoughts on the freedom of information, the influence of technology in our lives, human sexuality and gender norms, it also offers a high-tech romp filled with psychic government operatives, hackers and giant robots all vying for control of the unfolding nuclear wasteland.
