Raising the Bar on Gay Erotic Fiction

Bursting with stories that excite the imagination and are filled with steamy pleasure, Studs: Gay Erotic Fiction is a collection of a wide-ranging gay erotic fiction. Within these selected short stories, there is both pain and joy. "Orange" by Lee Houck delves deeply into bondage; "Come To Light" by Rhidian Brenig Jones follows the sexual aftermath of one man’s heartbreak. Shane Allison’s poetic confessions draw deeply on his memories in "Confession Angel" and Alana Noël Voth’s "Release" is all about longing and love.  The result is a celebration of the pleasures of gay sex. Edited by original editor of the Best Gay Erotica series Richard Labonté, and selected and introduced by Emanuel Xavier, Studs features a lineup of emerging writers such as Tim Miller and Andrew McCarthy, as well as bestselling authors like Shane Allison.

From 1979 to 2000, Richard Labonté helped found and then managed A Different Light Bookstores in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. He has edited the Best Gay Erotica series from 1996 to 2013; co-edited The Future Is Queer with Lawrence Schimel; reviews 100 books a year for Q Syndicate, writes the newsletter Books to Watch Out For/Gay Men's Edition; and writes book reviews for Publishers Weekly. He divides his time between a wee Perth, Ontario, apartment, and a sprawling ten-bedroom farmhouse on 200 acres of land near Calabogie, Ontario.

Emanuel Xavier is a spoken-word artist who has performed across the country. His writing has appeared in numerous publications and his own book of poetry, Americano. He lives in New York City.
