HIV testing at Lucille's was a success
From Keystone Alliance/GayLife Newsletter: Recently in our community, a series of multisponsored, free and confidential HIV tests took place at Lucille’s, 520 Washington St., Johnstown, on Wednesday evenings in January and early February.
These events drew record numbers of participants (according the Community Care Management sector of Memorial Medical Center, one of the co-sponsors) as well as a large and friendly crowd of supporters.
As someone who participated in the testing and attended the series in a show of solidarity and community support, I’d like to call attention to those whose efforts made the events such a success: John DeBartola, president of the Keystone Alliance, a co-sponsor; Vanka Bonini of Community Care Management, a co-sponsor; and Lucille’s, host location for the events – as well as to The Tribune-Democrat for its article on Jan. 2, which informed its readership about the events in the context of the organizers’ stated goals and helped promote public awareness.
