Out in the Silence Screening and Panel Discussion on Feb 19 at Patterson Library in Westfield NY

On Friday, February 19, 2010, the Patterson Library, 40 S Portage St, Westfield, NY 14787 will present a screening and panel discussion for Out in the Silence. Out in the Silence follows a controversy in a small Pennsylvania town. It has been chosen for its respect for the viewpoints on all sides of the issues, with emphasis on finding common ground. The panel discussion will include subjects from the film. "Following the story of a small American town confronting a firestorm of controversy ignited by a same-sex wedding announcement in the local newspaper, this gripping documentary illustrates the challenges of being an outsider in a conservative rural community and the change that is possible when courageous people break the silence and search for common ground. Out in the Silence will challenge you to rethink your values and help close the gaps that divide our communities." For more info, contact Rev. Rainbow Families Erie:		Our focus is on LGBT families and our children. We plan monthly outings that are family oriented, and focused on our children forming bonds and friendships with families like ours. Families with mommies and daddies, children of all ages and those who wish to begin the journey into parenthood are welcome.
Young LBT Women:		Social group for young lesbian, bisexual and transgendered women who are 21 to 40 years old.
Youth/Student:		Discussion group for students and youth and those who work with them.
GLBT Lobby:		Discussion list for lobbying area legislators about GLBT issues.
GLBT Voters/Activism:		GLBT people and their supporters who are involved in politics and activism, or who want to be.
Picnic:		This is the planning committee for the annual Erie Gay News Family Pride Picnic that happens in June each year. If you want to be in on making this happen and helping out, join up!
