Dog breed meme

I forget whose blog I originally saw this at, but it was a fun meme.

Whack job columnist supports animal cruelty

Is this some kind of twisted performance art piece?!?! What kind of person actually thinks that a human being is justified in killing a house cat that poses no threat. Yes, I could see if someone was being threatened by a possibly rabid animal that one might have to take extreme measures.

But killing . . . → Read More: Whack job columnist supports animal cruelty

Hecate encounters a skunk

Sigh. I was out registering folks to vote and Deb was over working on the newsletter. Apparently, the dogs were outside and Hecate had an encounter with a skunk. Deb looked online and said that the best stuff to bathe a skunked dog was apparently baking soda and hydrogen peroxide and dish soap. So, . . . → Read More: Hecate encounters a skunk

Catching up on domestic stuff

Well, it is officially Labor Day weekend for me. If I haven’t done it in a while, I try to clean the refrigerator. I got that done and it wasn’t too bad. I did screw up and forget that I had left 3 cans of frozen orange juice in the downstairs freezer after I . . . → Read More: Catching up on domestic stuff

Visit to Mom’s

My mom had me over yesterday for a slightly belated birthday dinner, which was very nice. My brother, Steve, and his girlfriend, Karen. were also, and I brought my 2 dogs, so we had my 2 dogs and Mom’s 2 dogs. They were actually fairly calm.

Evil kittens

My friend Paula has been playing around with posting videos to YouTube. Here she is doing a sort of Wild Kingdom with some fierce kittens that live near her house.

The driver asked me, “Aussie?”, referring to Heracles. “As a matter of fact, he is.”, I replied. The guy mentioned that Australian Shepherds were energetic and smart. Those are both very . . . → Read More: Another Aussie owner

Near miss with a skunk

I was taking the dogs out for their nightly walk, and we had just crossed the bridge over the Bayfront Highway. Both dogs got rather excited. I noted that there was some kind of small animal beyond the guard rail. Then I noticed black and white fur. Crap! Having me and/or both dogs sprayed . . . → Read More: Near miss with a skunk

Yet more stress, but new stuff subsided

Oy. About a month ago, a neighbor filed a complaint about the dogs barking. I felt mortified that I had not been more diligent, but I wish he had at least spoken to me first. So, I got the ticket, paid the fine and figured it was all over with. I have worked on . . . → Read More: Yet more stress, but new stuff subsided

Campy dog toys

This was slightly surreal. I was out grocery shopping and saw 2 very campy looking dog toys. One resembled a Muppet purse, and the other looked like a male cat attempting Edith Prickley drag. Or something.

So, I got them and the dogs had fun playing with them.
