Millcreek Parade was fun!

I wasn’t sure how the turnout would go yesterday for having a GLBT contingent in the Millcreek 4th of July Parade, This was the first year we had marched as a named group. Before, we just marched with the Peace and Justice folks, but I wasn’t clear on how they were organizing his year. The crowds have usually been quite nice. My main worry was getting folks to show up. (Visions of just me and my friend James sort of flashed through my head.)

I feel that things went very well indeed! We had a bit over 20 people, which I think is about double what we had last year. When I was walking I didn’t see anyone obviously reacting negatively. We were just there, like everyone else.

An amusing start was that we were a few units behind the Elks Club and there was a musical act on the float that started off with “Just a Gigolo.”
