Geek divination and a fairly fun evening

Saturday night was pretty good. I spent the first part of the evening with the coven. One of the women is an excellent cook, and we had pizzas that were made from scratch. Everyone brought some components, so I sort of thought of them as stone soup pizzas. (From the folk tale about stone soup.) One pizza had fresh tomatoes and basil, plus olive oil and I think garlic. Selkie and I realized that was the same ingredients for a pasta dish made at Starwood by someone we knew years ago. The name of the dish translates from the Italian as basically “faggot pasta.”

Afterwards, there was a class on divination. We were going over using a pendulum, which I have never been good with (ditto for divination in general.) One of the folks noticed that I didn’t have a pendulum, and we were out of loaners, so he offered his ear buds. I figured that it would work better to use something I was in frequent contact with, so I took the ear buds from my iPod and used the audio jack. It actually worked fairly well! No one was surprised in the least that geek stuff would work for divination.

After things were starting to break up, I went home to walk the dogs, and then a visit/frolic. ;)

Then, I went out to the Zone to visit some friends, and I also danced rather a lot. All in all, quite a good day!
