I think things are okay now. When I woke up this morning, I noticed that the house was chilly. I looked at the thermostat and it was 45 degrees! The furnace was silent (scary) and the space heater in the computer room was also out. This is NOT the day to be without heat.
However, when I unplugged something on the furnace and plugged it back in again, it came on. I also relit the gas-powered space heater in the computer room and it came on as well. I am guessing (okay, hoping) that whatever it was that caused this was some sort of fluke.) The temperature on the thermostat is now showing a comparatively balmy 58 degrees, so I think I will be okay.
