Continuing the theme of geeking around on my vacation, I played around with adding additional RSS feeds for the Erie Gay News site.
I noticed that the Zone Dance Club had an out of date version of the calendar from when text had been copied and pasted a while ago. I did a bit of digging and found a fairly nice free JavaScript to parse an RSS feed. Dummy me realized that I had been putting out RSS feeds for the calendar and articles for a while, so what sense was there to have other folks maintain stuff when I could just send them the code and let it maintain itself? That way, events and news gets out to a wider audience, and no one has to keep checking or copying and pasting. I am working on getting other relevant local sites to use the same code.
I also created RSS feeds for the birthday list, the photo galleries and the new video galleries.
