You can’t make stuff like this up! I was getting phone messages when I got a beep for a second incoming call. It was a robocall about Sarah Palin visiting Erie on Thursday. (Um, I have been a registered Democrat since I was 18.)
After hanging up the phone, I got another call from Erie Republican HQ asking me if I wanted to volunteer at the Sarah Palin rally. Actually, what they asked was if I or my husband wanted to volunteer. “Oh, sorry, I meant wife!”, the well meaning but obviously clueless woman calling me said. (Silently thought, “You were closer to being correct the first time, although I am single.”) “Um, I’m gay and the webmaster for the Erie County Democratic Party, so maybe not so much for doing that.” was my response. (I.e. I was being polite but, seriously, WTF!!!)
Deb happened to be over, working on photos from the candidate forum, and she said something about this certainly being good for blog fodder.
