My friend Jaeme, whom I first met about 18 years ago, was finally able to get the hip replacement surgery that she needed. She had been fairly incapacitated for a few years now.
What I like about Jaeme is that she has such a sunny outlook on life. She was just glad that she was “on the other side.”
She was also noting that when she looked at adding the numbers on the date of the diagnosis, the date of the operation, her room numbers at the hospital and etc, they all added up to 9. Someone then pointed out there was a total of 9 people in the room. We were part of different traditions (Wiccan, Druid, etc) but we were all Pagan. I asked if that made us Valkyrie or Muses or something. TJ said that definitely voted for Valkyrie.
We chatted for a bit, and I left feeling grateful to be part of a community that was so supportive and friendly. Several of us observed that we don’t tend to be economically advantaged as a rule, but we generally seem to be quite happy!
