Marching in the parade

Things went fairly well for marching in the Millcreek 4th of July parade. I was worried about bringing the United NeoPagan Council of Lake Erie (UNCLE) banner if folks didn't show up, but everyone who said that they would show up did so. Yay for reliability!

James and I carried the Erie Gay News banner yet once again. There was also a young guy and a lesbian who carried the big rainbow flag. PFLAG had a banner and there were a few drag queens, which was a first for this year. We got quite a lot of smiles and waves back, so folks along the parade route were very cool. I thought I heard some small kid say "fags." The lesbian thought she heard a few people say "freaks," possibly in reference to the drag queens, but they seemed to change their mind when they noticed that the drag queen was walking a pug.

However, the overwhelming feeling was positive. I saw a few people I knew along the parade route.
