Fun involving Parade stuff

We are gearing up for marching with the peace and justice contingent in tomorrow's Millcreek 4th of July Parade. The United NeoPagan Council of Lake Erie (UNCLE) recently got a banner, so we were thinking of having that included as well. However, since I am carrying the Erie Gay News banner, and will have the ginormous rainbow banner and rainbow flag in my backpack, in case we have enough folks to carry them, I really didn't want to bring anything else unless I was sure that someone would be there to carry it. Therefore, I put out a call for volunteers to the Erie Pagans group on Yahoo. I mentioned that I would need at least 2 people.

I got a call from a woman who was up for carrying the UNCLE banner. She mentioned that she wasn't sure if her husband, who is Lutheran would be up for helping. "No problem!", I quipped. "He can always help carry the gay banners." She said that he would probably be even less comfortable with that. ;) Actually, I knew the woman and her husband from years ago via the Society for Creative Anachronism.

So, here's hoping that we get a good turn out and maybe NOT have to worry about rain this year.
