I saw this on the Daily Show and figured that it was just a goof. But yeah, John McCain has a video game on his web site called Pork Invaders. It seems to be based on the 80's classic Space Invaders.
Let me explain that I am not into video games at all. I embrace my inner fogey. My sister and I played Pong when our uncle got us that way back around 1980.
If McCain is trying to appeal to youth, I think that he would have wanted a game that didn't scream "Ancient History!" at the top of its lungs. When I went to the site to verify that it wasn't made up, I must admit to making a very loud guffaw. Yes, people of all ages play video games, but we probably associate it primarily with youth, and something that was popular when that age bracket was in diapers or not born yet just doesn't make sense to me.
Maybe the graphic for the link to sound bites should be an old Victrola? When you click on a link, it should play a WAV file of someone saying "23 skidoo!"
