The band on my watch had broken, and I stopped by K-Mart today to get a new one. (I am exceedingly not fashion conscious – a plain $25 digital watch is just fine.)
When I got there, the saleswoman was helping an elderly woman with a watch she had gotten previously that part of . . . → Read More: Rudeness and the watch

I went to the Erie Pride March/Rally. There were about 125 people who marched. There were a couple of young guys walking on the sidewalk as we marched down who were holding hands. It was cute. We had the rain to deal with, but they did have a bigger turnout than last year.

We had a very successful Pride Picnic. I still have to check the numbers, but I think we met or topped 300 attendees. Lots of different folks, quite a few who brought their kids. I feel really positive about the whole experience.
One evil quip: my friend Bruce and his partner Tony put up . . . → Read More: Pride Picnic a huge success and a quip

I am pretty much wiped out right now. I think I have most of the stuff ready for the Pride Picnic tomorrow, but there is always the nagging worry that I have overlooked something major. I feel really good about the great folks that we have. We just need to weather to cooperate. (Once . . . → Read More: Almost caught up

So, the 16th Annual Erie Pride Picnic is this Saturday, June 28 from 1 to 6 PM at the Rotary Pavilion at Presque Isle. Full details are at the web site. I really enjoy the event, but I am usually also tremendously neurotic the closer we get to the event. My only goal is . . . → Read More: Picnic Prep madness

I had a call today from a distant state from a perfume manufacturer who is looking for a Pennsylvania Dutch person to market a gay-focused perfume. Amish would work as well, apparently.
Now I just need to go through my contacts and try to narrow down the list of gay Amish/Pennsylvania Dutch models that . . . → Read More: Gay Amish Perfume Models

I saw this on the Daily Show and figured that it was just a goof. But yeah, John McCain has a video game on his web site called Pork Invaders. It seems to be based on the 80′s classic Space Invaders.
Let me explain that I am not into video games at all. I . . . → Read More: John McCain Pork Invaders

Folding the July issue of Erie Gay News went fairly well. Deb had been over working on getting the photos from Sunday’s Stonewall: Cradle of Gay Activism ready for Flickr, and asked me to give her a ride, since she was going some place near the Zone. I walked into the Monday morning programmers’ meeting. Two of the guys were talking about hair cuts and one said that for a guy paying more than $15 was just crazy. They then talked a bit further and asked me for my opinion. I said that I thought straight men talking about hair styling . . . → Read More: A surprisingly gay chat at work

What a booked day! 10:30 AM was the Stonewall: Cradle of Gay Activism service at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Erie. It was nice. I took some photos, and I ended up sitting next to Jeremy, who is cooking for the Pride Picnic and who was one of the founder of Closet Culture, an . . . → Read More: Stonewall: Cradle of Gay Activism
