The Internet is a wonderful thing. I had ordered a replacement for the washing machine online, and it was scheduled to be delivered today. I was out running some errands and Deb was here working on the newsletter when the delivery guys came to install.
You know what the Internet isn't so good for? Letting you know that said washer was too wide to fit down the cellar steps. Deb called me on the cell and had them speak with me. I felt pretty stupid. The guy I talked with said that they could leave it in the kitchen. I pointed out that not being able to hook it up to water and electricity wouldn't be very useful. I called back shortly afterwards to get the dimension I needed to meet.
Fortunately, I was up by the mall, so I went to the store that I had ordered from online and explained that I needed to get a washing machine that was no more than a certain dimension. It's due to be delivered on Tuesday. I am hoping that the info I got was good. We measured again when I got home, and it looks like it should be a tight fit, but it will be okay. The critical juncture has a rock wall on the outside with a bump that I might attack with a hammer to smooth the slight outcropping.
I had a very pleasant evening with the coven, many of whom are participating in the upcoming Shimmy for a Cure. The theme for this evening was directed at healing for others, as a few folks had friends and families who had been through some tough times or who were facing difficult situations.
