As part of a self-imposed volunteer thing, I forward events and info for groups that I have contact with to local media. Some folks don’t have the time, and it feels like a nice way to put a little niceness out into the universe. (Three fold law of return and all that – other folks have done nice stuff for me, so it feels right to pass the good karma along.)
Erie Gay News is currently doing its annual resource update (and feel free to fill out the form here if you are regional and relevant – I review them before posting/updating to make sure I don’t get stuff like a show store in Dubuque.)
I got the update for a local group that runs an HIV/AIDS support group twice a month. When I last talked with the contact, she said that they got mostly straight folks, but it certainly doesn’t hurt to help let others know about the group.
Coincidentally, I saw a posting from Snow Water Grove about an upcoming summer solstice observance. According to Sharon, Snow Water is now officially a grove, rather than a protogrove – good for you folks!
So today, in the same email, I sent out an event listing for both a Druid thing and also for a group meeting at St. Mark Catholic Center, which is in the same building as the Erie Roman Catholic Diocese, I believe. They will appear separately, since they are different dates/times/purposes. But it tickles me no end that they went out together.
