Holy crap! Can you say "bad idea on an epic scale??" Let's just review: Adolph Hitler is pretty much box office poison/a synonym for the most vile and evil segment of humanity. Swastikas are not exactly neutral.
Dude, you just had your picture taken IN FRONT OF a BIG PICTURE OF HITLER. With a US flag. Flanked by swastikas. When exactly did this look like a good idea?
I am also thinking that saying that he spoke because he will speak to anyone, and then follow that up with the bit about just having spoken to an African-American group is unbelievably clumsy, to say the least. ("I'll speak to Nazis, and even blacks!")
I don't know who else is running for the Republican nomination in that district, but I am wondering if the Democrats will end up with that seat after November's election.
Wow. What a complete and total idiot!
Candidate speaks at Hitler birthday party

A congressional candidate is defending his speech to a group celebrating the anniversary of Adolf Hitler's birth, saying he appeared simply because he was asked.
Tony Zirkle, who is seeking the Republican nomination in Indiana's 2nd District, stood in front of a painting of Hitler, next to people wearing swastika armbands and with a swastika flag in the background for the speech to the American National Socialist Workers Party in Chicago on Sunday.
"I'll speak before any group that invites me," Zirkle said Monday. "I've spoken on an African-American radio station in Atlanta."
