Happy birthday, Mom!

Just a quickie to wish my Mom a happy birthday. I have a truly excellent and nifty mom, and I am very fortunate to have been raised with the values that were stressed.

Still working on enhancements to Pride registration

Okay, this is probably deathly dull, but there has been some progress on enhancements to the Pride registration page (it’s not online yet.) I am breaking out volunteer shifts into a child table and also sub events. It’s a ton of work, but it will make things in the future really easy to handle.

Drenched Fur wrap up meeting and Pride Registration changes

The Drenched Fur wrap up meeting went okay, if a tad long. At the end, the guy that Gary is seeing was IM’ing and said something about us discussing using the colors of blush and bashful. I shot back with pink "is my signature color", because I caught the quote from Steel Magnolias. I . . . → Read More: Drenched Fur wrap up meeting and Pride Registration changes

A minor personal goal

I have been meaning to cook from scratch more. I try to eat somewhat healthily, but I do feel like I am taking better care of myself when I make something that isn’t just thawing something. So, this marks the third week in a row that I have done that. The usual routine is . . . → Read More: A minor personal goal

Catching up sort of day

There were a number of computer geek tasks I had been meaning to catch up. I just started playing around with Prophet, which is a CRM application that runs inside of Outlook. I track both resource stuff for the database (which I ended up going with custom fields and forms) but also donations for . . . → Read More: Catching up sort of day

Tony Zirkle seems to be a MAJOR whack job

At first, I just thought he was incredibly naive. Then I read a bit more. Here is . . . → Read More: Tony Zirkle seems to be a MAJOR whack job

Near miss with a skunk

I noted that there was some kind of small animal beyond the guard rail. Then I noticed black and white fur. Crap! Having me and/or both dogs sprayed . . . → Read More: Near miss with a skunk

Candidate speaks at Hitler birthday party / nwi.com

Holy crap! Can you say “bad idea on an epic scale??” Let’s just review: Adolph Hitler is pretty much box office poison/a synonym for the most vile and evil segment of humanity. Swastikas are not exactly neutral.

Dude, you just had your picture taken IN FRONT OF a BIG PICTURE OF HITLER. With a . . . → Read More: Candidate speaks at Hitler birthday party / nwi.com

Yet another gay guy from high school

I was contacted by someone on Facebook that I didn’t at first recognize. It turns out that we had gone to high school together, but he had only been there for the senior year and we had been in the same Advanced Placement (AP) Biology class, which was rather small.

I remember the teacher . . . → Read More: Yet another gay guy from high school

Various computer geek stuff

I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before. For the Erie Gay News web site, I had submissions for various actions (entering a contest, registering for Pride events, requesting a sample print copy, adding birthday info to the Friends and Supporters page, leaving a comment on an article) sending me an email . . . → Read More: Various computer geek stuff
