I had a nice surprise this afternoon. I got an email from a new advertiser who wanted to take out a quarter page ad for a year in Erie Gay News. Yippee! They had already laid the ad out, but the dimensions were rotated 90 degrees. I emailed them back and they were able to redo it and send it along, so it can be included in the issue that we are putting to bed this weekend. Talk about fortuitous timing!
My friend Jan's old PC had died a while ago, and my friend Dave was going to take a look at her old hard drive to see if he could get any of her data off. He had emailed/called me earlier this week that he had. Since Deb was over at my house working on the newsletter, and since I knew that tonight was free, but my schedule was booked for a while, I decided to pay back the good news I had by taking the CD over to Jan, who lives in Waterford.
I stopped by Dave's in Erie, got the CD and drove to Waterford. When I got to Jan's I popped in the CD, and discovered that it was someone else's CD. Bummer! We called Dave, and he said that he would burn a new CD while I drove back. I tend to have a task completion thing.
So, I went back to Erie to get the CD from Dave, and we verified that we definitely had the right files. Back to Waterford!
I got the files copied from the CD, and then Jan mentioned that she had used a different folder for much of her scanned artwork. She called Dave, and he was going to look into it. I wasn't really up for a 3rd Erie to Waterford trip, so I guess I will get to it sometime in the next week or two.
I came back and dropped off a proof copy of the Zone's ad, and chatted with Deb before walking the dogs. Now I need to print out the envelopes and solicit for volunteers for folding for the newsletter on Tuesday. We have an insert this month, and a candidate survey, so we could really use extra help.
Ken mentioned needing a ride to work tomorrow, and I am going to celebrate Ostara with the coven tomorrow night. Sunday is Easter dinner at Mom's, with finishing up the newsletter that night.
I really think I need to go into a coma sometime soon. ;)
