Snow shoveling and King Arthur

I caught part of an exchange between the president of the company where I work and another programmer. The president was talking about shoveling snow and that the shovel got stuck in a drift and he was having a hard time pulling it out. He said that he felt like that king who pulled the sword out of the stone, but couldn't recall the name.

"King Arthur," I said, "and the sword was Excalibur."

He mentioned having used some language that Arthur probably didn't use.

I pointed out that both he and Arthur were quite probably using a lot of Anglo Saxon words.

"Only you would think of that, Michael", he jibed back.
