My workplace publishes an in house newsletter for the employees' amusement. The person who edits it requests a recipe of the month, and I think we got maybe 4 or so last year.
I was looking at the first issue of Erie Gay News, and recalled that I had posted a recipe for Boule de Neige, so I figured what the heck and sent it along to the editor.
There is also a section in the newsletter where they profile someone, so I got picked. There were questions for favorite book, movie, food, etc. (Movie was a tossup for me between What's Up, Doc? and Brokeback Mountain.)
One of the questions was rather tricky "The one thing that people would be surprised to know about me is..." I should mention that everyone knows about me being gay, and I am fairly certain that they pretty much all know about me being Pagan. There were certainly quite a few other things that I could have put down that would definitely have been oversharing. ;) (I toyed with adding "... hopefully not currently illegal.") So I just put down about having once taught medieval/renaissance dance in costume at a Star Trek convention and reflected that it probably wasn't so surprising.
I guessed that was better than awkward silences and averted glances in the lunch room.
