Less than 6 degrees of separation

I have frequently joked that in Erie, we never make it to 6 degrees of separation; it's usually more like 2 or 3.

Case in point: I was reading the paper this morning, and there was an article about the reaction of the local chess club to the recent death of Bobby Fischer. The article had a picture of the president of the chess club, Craig. Craig and his wife are the owners of the house that my family lived in for a few years in the early 1970's that my mom, my friend Jeff and I visited back in November.

Also quoted in the article was Rick Mitchell, whom I know through the Lake Erie Alliance for Democracy. I have also been working on a web project recently for Rick with his wife Christine.

Also, Jeff works for his parents who have a campground that Cindy works at. Cindy is the past President of the Lake Erie Alliance for Democracy, which is now held by Christine. So, pick whatever path you want, but one can find multiple connections between almost everyone. For whatever reason, I find that to be both amusing and comforting.
