A productive weekend

Well, I didn't expect to be able to rake the yard in early January, but since I had both daylight and a relatively clear/warm day, it made sense to go for it. I guess it will be less stuff to take care of in spring. I am also fairly caught up on other domestic stuff. Yay.

I am continuing copying articles from the PDF's of Erie Gay News scanned over vacation into pages on the site. I was able to get 3 months more done. I am ending up copying the text, pasting it into Dreamweaver, and fixing OCR recognition errors. In some cases, I am just using Dragon Naturally Speaking to read the text in. Sometimes the PDF got the columns right, and sometimes things were a tad less so. This is likely to be a long process.

I just got done with the June 1993 issue, which had info about the 1993 March on Washington. I felt good about getting the recollections of people who went to the event recorded. There was a kid who had been harassed at an Erie area high school who was interviewed on MTV.

My friend James also needed some help moving the default location for new photos from his camera to his new hard drive, so I stopped over and did that for him.

Oh well, not too much else.
