This is sort of murky, but it does sound like there could be something here. Anti-gay Sen. Trent Lott (R-MS) who recently announced his resignation from the Senate, only a few months into his new term, has been linked with rent boy Benjamin Nicholas by Big Head DC. You can see the original article here. Okay, hardly a smoking... gun (I was thinking of using a different noun there), but Nicholas claims that the whole thing was fabricated, but Big Head DC blogger Rob Capricciosoi has published the emails that Nicholas denies sending. The quote from Benjamin Nicholas I found the most intriguing was:

No CURRENT affiliation? Doesn't that rather imply some past affiliation? Why would Benjamin Nicholas use the word "current" in this context?
Big Head DC indicates that there may be more sources for this info in at article at the Dallas Voice, but that the info might not come out.
It is hardly news for a closet case conservative to be found out, most frequently in decidedly tawdry circumstance. Actually, it seems to be a pretty frequent occurence: Trent Lott would be in line after Mark Foley, Ted Haggard, Fl State Rep Bob Allen and I lose track of who else. I quipped to a co-worker that someone should invest in a bath house near the 2008 Republican National Convention. One could make money hand over fist. (And be sure to use latex gloves and LOTS of lube if the wording in that last sentence is unusually appropriate.)
