I try to remind myself that an upside to facing challenges or scary things is that it can also be a reminder or opportunity for finding the goodness in people.
So, even though it is not easy with a currently out of commission car, I am deeply grateful for:
- My friend Jeff, who came over to help me diagnose the problem, was helpful and cheerful, and even gave me a ride to Subway so I could get some dinner
- Deb, who took time to help me find how to get from my house to work, so that I could key in my time. (It was comical how I was not getting which corner to stand on. Deb called my cell phone to check up, and I said "Yes Deb, I made it on the bus okay." This is all while she is finishing the newsletter
- My good friend James, or giving me a ride to the grocery store, so that I can get the weekly shopping done. The dogs are are almost out of food, so this is particularly appreciated. James is also the longest term helper with folding the newsletter, and I have already batted around some back up ideas if I still have transportation issues.
- John, for calling to check on me. Nope, I don't think that this is something I could fix myself, but it feels good to know that there are terrific people watching out for me.
- My Mom, with whom I had a very nice chat yesterday, and whom I am looking forward to visiting and having a nice family Thanksgiving
So, lots of good people in my life are a joy! I am happy that I have nifty and cool friends in the blogging, GLBT and Pagan communities. Many reasons to feel blessed!
