Well, at least some aspects of tomorrow are settled. I was able to have the car towed and repaired. The tires were all sort of getting up there, so they are now all new. I am hoping that this coming weekend breaks the pattern of having to spend a few hundred dollars. ;)
The repair shop I took it to is the usual one that I deal with. I was feeling bad about being sort of whiny, and I was trying to work out the logistics of having to get the newsletter out tomorrow without a vehicle. I had asked James to give me a ride after work. I wasn't sure whether the car was done, and I figured we could at least pick up the newsletters from Kinko's. I am very proud of the fact that I have never had volunteers to show up and fold/distribute the newsletter without actually having it there.
So, when it was ready to go, I thanked James profusely for being so helpful. Indulging my task completion mania, I left 2 sets of all of the 2007 issues to be bound (one for me, one for Deb - an annual tradition for reference.) I also mailed 1 set each to the GLBT archives in Toronto and Amsterdam. That's another annual tradition. Again, I am really proud that Erie's GLBT history is online and also in about 5-6 historical archives.
