Oh my. It sounds like Msgr Stenico is about to throw a hissy fit. You may recall that Msgr was outed putting the moves on a younger guy by Italian TV, and that he works at the Vatican. The Vatican suspended him, and now he is claiming that he has a list of the "Vatican Homosexual Network."
Okay, when I first read that, I did picture a really queeny version of LOGO, with maybe an all priest production of The Sound of Music, or musical selections from The King of Kings and I or Our Fair Lady.
Suspended priest threatens to expose Vatican homosexual network
Rome, Oct. 22, 2007 (CWNews.com) - An Italian priest who was suspended from his post in the Roman Curia last week has claimed that he has a list of active homosexuals working at the Vatican.
Msgr. Tommaso Stenico was removed from his duties at the Congregation for Clergy after the Italian La7 television network showed a videotape in which he propositioned a young man. Although the priest’s face was obscured in the video, Vatican officials were able to identify his voice and his office, in which the video was surreptitiously recorded.
Msgr. Stenico did not deny that he was the priest caught on the videotape. He offered the claim that he was investigating the influence of a homosexual network around the Vatican.
Now, in a conversation with Italy’s Panorama magazine, the disgraced cleric has pushed his claim further, saying that he has a “dossier” on the homosexual network and the priests involved. That information, he said, should make the Vatican “tremble.”
Oh yeah, note that the article is from a Catholic News Source. Some of the comments on the article are quite hateful indeed. Closeted gay priests?? Is there anyone left that is going to be shocked by this?
Moving on to yet another case of "closet case who apparently doesn't get that people figured out what the real story is", Larry Craig is claiming that his toe tapping, hand waving under the stall is constitutionally protected free speech. Hmm. But he is still denying that he is gay and that really, the whole thing has just been an unfortunate misunderstanding. (My eyes are seriously rolling back into my head right now.)
The ironic part is that Larry Craig is trying to convince everyone that he is just a straight guy who votes against the GLBT community and has proper conservative credentials, and all of these painfully obviously false denials is just highlighting more and more that he is a self-loathing delusional closet case.
I just find people who are so obviously out of touch with reality like Msgr. Stenico and Sen. Craig to be wildly amusing.
