I took today off from work to catch up after having delivered the newsletters last night. (It ends up being more than 4 hours with folding, delivering and etc.) We had only a few volunteers, but they went really well.
So, what did I do on my day off from my job as a computer programmer? Of course! I geeked around on the PC at home. There is usually a bunch of resetting of stuff for the invoices, delivery and newsletter document itself. Our graphics artist also brought up an issue that I did some investigating on.
Events that go into the newsletter also get posted to our web site and Eventful.com and a few other media outlets, so that is now out of the way. I am also working on getting info for ErieDems.com.
I played around a bit with the new web cam. Still toying with maybe doing a vlog as well. Might be something to learn some new skills.
My friend James, who has been riding shotgun when we deliver the newsletters for pretty much the last 4 years had an offer for 20 free prints on photos. He doesn't have Internet access at home, so I got a CD from him and uploaded that.
Deb wanted to fax some letters, so I scanned those to PDF's and then faxed those out. This was for peace activism stuff.
There was a very nice chat with Mom. My brother in law left me a message wondering whether my uncle and his family in LA are threatened by the wildfires out there. Mom didn't know, but she was going to give my uncle a call. Mom and I also talked about some of the stuff related to my great aunt Ruth's passing.
Well, I guess I should finally get dressed today and walk the dogs. ;)
