It has been a rather rough weekend. I did go out to Touch of Salem in North East to the Ray Buckland book signing. He was a very nice, unpretentious guy. I got there sort of late. I was thinking about which of his books to get, and then he walked out. I picked up one, and ran after him, calling, "Sir! Sir!" (Well, it seemed the appropriate thing to say to someone who was older.) He was very gracious about signing the book. The Erie Times News had a very nice, in depth story about both him and Cindy's store/Wicca in general. Alas, the store will no longer be maintaining a physical presence. They were packing up after he left.
At one point, we found a cup that he had been drinking of, and were giddily joking about selling it on eBay as a holy relic - Buckland's Backwash! Paula took a picture of me with him, which was fun.
Sorry to hear the store is packing up. If they'd opened when I was still in North East I would have been there every single week spending my money. Or while I was still in Erie even. So where does one get witchy supplies in Erie now? I got incense at Grasshopper (and major retailers) and herbs at Chicory Hill and candles everywhere. I went to Mohr & More once but they didn't have the specialized stuff I needed. So where does the discerning Erie pagan shop?
Hmm, I think that Mohr and More might be the only Pagan store left in the county that has a storefront. I know that Touch of Salem will be continuing an online store, and I think that Mohr and More does as well. Sadly, I am missing the gay shopping genes. ;)
