I had a phone message last night that the electric company was going to have a planned outage today from 9 AM to 2 PM. (I guess that they were doing some work, and the area covered several blocks.) I made sure to have iPod, PDA and USB flash drive all synced and other computer stuff done before, and had the computer turned off.
I stayed longer at work before heading back to lunch. I did leave around 1:30 or so on the off chance that they might turn the power back on slightly early. (And nothing I was doing for lunch required electricity.) I got the mail and walked in, standing in front of the computer, which is normally the first thing I check out upon entering the house. The power was out, and it came back on within a minute, just as if it was waiting for the correct moment. Sort of freaky and silly.
