Wow! It has been a bit since I blogged, so some catching up is in order:
I was really fretting about getting the site for next year's Pride Picnic: the Rotary Pavilion is a great location and inexpensive, but, not surprisingly, books up very quickly. I missed out on the first 2 weekends of June 2008, but I just was able to register this morning for the 4th Saturday in June. Now I just have to worry about getting volunteers and etc. Two of the long terms folks who have been helping are stepping down, and some others might also be changing. Fortunately, most of the stuff that we need is the day of the event or shortly before. Most of the rest of the stuff I have pretty much down to a routine and can do myself.
I saw Hairspray last night. Fantastic and fun! I very rarely catch movies in theatres.
Afterwards, I went out to the Zone and chatted with some friends. I bumped into some folks from Ashtabula (one of whom is going to be bartending at Ashtagayla, which I am looking forward to going to on August 18.
After I chatted with the friends, we went to Dominick's, a 24 hour diner, for a bite to eat. It was very nice. One of the 2 guys does podcasting, so we talked about geek stuff.
This past Tuesday was newsletter folding and delivering, which went fairly well. It's pretty much an all night thing, but it feels good to get stuff out.
Oh well, not much else. Basically a quiet weekend. I am still waiting to hear from the newsletter's graphic designer about doing brunch tomorrow with Deb.
