Replacement bag and power outage

Work has been particularly stressful of late with some conversions we are working on. In the middle of making some changes to a program, we had a power outage. Fortunately, most of the code I had keyed in was relatively recoverable. I think I am somewhat on track. (And let me just say that non-normalized data with field names that are close to each other, but not quite, suck raw microchips. Grrr!)

Just before this, I had an encounter with my boss. I am fairly well known for not being the best person in handling stuff on the physical plane. I had an old briefcase/bag for work. My late dog Morgaine had sort of chewed on it a bit, but it was still serviceable. Anywho, my boss walks over and mentions that he has two old cases that I could use. Apparently, part of my old bag were, for want of a better term, shedding. (Hmm, so that's what those small black bits of fluff were!) He was very gracious about it, but he did mention something about following me around with a vacuum cleaner. This was just before the power outage, so when the electricity was out, I cleaned my desk and moved the stuff into the new bag.

The stereotype of computer programmers is that we are slobs who have little flair in terms of fashion and style. The stereotype of gay men is that we are fashion plates who exude fabulousness from every pore. I guess that, in this arena at least, geek wins over queer. :)
