Pittsburgh Memorial Day Fest and Santa Claus/Jerry Garcia

I got rather a late start yesterday, but I had a wonderful time at the Pittsburgh Memorial Day Festival. I spent a fair amount of time on the dance floor. When I fest went on the dance floor, I saw this guy from the back with a long white beard and a red shirt and shorts. He was also wearing sunglasses. Because my brother in law does Santa Claus as a sideline, that was my first thought. However, I wasn't sure whether the overall effect was more Santa Claus relaxing for the summer or Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead looking a tad prematurely Yuletide casual. However, the guys seemed to be having a great time, so more power to him.

At one point, a guy with a video camera came up to me, and asked me if I was aware that I had been on national media. Apparently, he runs a video business and I had been shot in a crowd shot dancing at last year's Memorial Day Festival, and it ran on Logo (the gay cable channel network.) I guess I have just been kicked up a notch on the gay media whore scale. :) The guy and I had a wonderful conversation and hung out.

I had at least 2 guys get flirty/cruisy with me, both of whom were cute. Every self-centered and vain Leonine fiber in my body purred at getting attention.

While I was on the dance floor, the DJ played New York, New York as recorded by Liza Minelli. Some of them broke into a kickline, and I eventually joined in. I told a woman in the line afterwards that it was probably the gayest thing that I had done all week. (Gay men doing a kickline to Liza Minelli? How queer is that! ;) ) Everyone was very nice and friendly.

I got back rather late to Erie, and went to Trance for the end of the Tranceapalooza. I chatted with some folks back in the Martini Bar, as there was a heavy rock band playing, which isn't really a genre of music that does much for me.

I am now scurrying around trying to get caught up, so I can go over to Mom's and see Grandma and etc for an impromptu Memorial Day picnic.
