I was at the meeting tonight of the Erie County Democratic Party. It looks like I will be setting up a web site for them. (I am leaning towards Drupal and CiviCRM, just because it is so easy to do, and easy for others to maintain.)
They started off the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. I did my usual bit and just said "One nation, under the Goddess.." I don't think it's disruptive (truth to tell, no one else listens), but it makes me feel like I am being true to my faith tradition.
At the end of the meeting, I was waiting to speak to the Chair about web site stuff. I notice a woman checking out my necklace. I half-guessed where this might be leading. "Oh my, that's nice. Is that a Star of David?" (Thus I made my quota of being mistaken for being Jewish. It happens. A LOT. ;) I am always bemused by it, "No ma'am. It's a Pentagram. I'm Pagan." She smiled. I am not sure if she got it, but I could tell she was just being pleasant, so it's all good.
