I just got back from the 2nd Annual East Meets North Hafla. A hafla is a Middle Eastern party, typically with a potluck and belly dancing. It was fun! They had a nice mix of food, and the performers were very good. My friend Lisa was in it. Her mom and mother in law came. She wasn't sure how her mother in law would react, but she seemed to have a great time. I was going to bring my camera and take a few photos, but I discovered that both the batteries in the camera and the backup ones were dead. Sigh.
