The conversion we had today actually went relatively well. The install that we have the problem with was taking care of by the main programmer for the food bank application. I juggled a few other calls, but I think I am mostly caught up at this point. Oh yeah, today marked 20 years of being at my job. It is a sobering thought to realize it is spent almost half my life at the same company. It was sort of appropriate for me to be working on conversion stuff today, is that was one of the first projects I was involved with what I started the position. I think I may have mentioned before that many pagans take on a patron deity, and mine happens to be Hermes. So, from a spiritual perspective, working on conversions and enabling disparate types of systems to communicate is quite entirely appropriate for me. But, since I am probably the only pagan at my workplace, I probably won't mention it. :-)
I am even caught up with my e-mails at home. For now. Sort of.
After work, I dropped off the replacement PC for my friend Lynne, and that seemed to go relatively well. I tend to be kind of an excessive compulsive freak about task completion.
I'm feeling a bit tired right now, as I didn't get much sleep last night. I do want to go out and check on the newsletters, as well as socialize a bit.
Congratulations are doubly in order! First, for 20 yrs on the job, and 2nd, for successfully completing your NaBloPoMo challenge!
It's been a great month of reading, Mike. Hope to see you soon!
