Interesting church music selection

Last night I went out at about 11 p.m. to walk the dogs. As it so happens, the Catholic church across the street was letting out. I guess they did midnight mass a little bit early. They had been playing carols on the church bells. When I walked out, the church bells were planning "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas." It struck me as sort of funny because

  1. It isn't snowing at all. (Although I guess it could be argued that one is dreaming of a white Christmas because there is no snow.)
  2. White Christmas doesn't have any particular religious themes.
  3. White Christmas was written by Irving Berlin, who happens to have been Jewish.

All in all, I just hope they had a nice service. I had a nice day at my mom's with all the dogs, hanging out with my little brother and my stepfather as well.
