Last night I went out at about 11 p.m. to walk the dogs. As it so happens, the Catholic church across the street was letting out. I guess they did midnight mass a little bit early. They had been playing carols on the church bells. When I walked out, the church bells were planning "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas." It struck me as sort of funny because
- It isn't snowing at all. (Although I guess it could be argued that one is dreaming of a white Christmas because there is no snow.)
- White Christmas doesn't have any particular religious themes.
- White Christmas was written by Irving Berlin, who happens to have been Jewish.
All in all, I just hope they had a nice service. I had a nice day at my mom's with all the dogs, hanging out with my little brother and my stepfather as well.
