I realized a while ago that I didn't have a site map for Erie Gay News, so I created it. Initially, I was using a template that came with Dreamweaver. I customized the menu for it to read from a homegrown content management system I have been throwing together for the past 3 1/2 years. It seems to work relatively well, and customizing a standard package probably would've been more annoying than writing what I have.
I wasn't using a description before for the menu items, so I added a field for that to the database, and then added some code to display the description on both the site map, as well as using it for the title tag for the links in the menu. I had to do some playing around with that to get it to work, but I think that it's fine now.
