While talking with my friend John of John and Paula, he mentioned that a co-worker had come up to him with a copy of last month’s Erie Gay News, which apparently had been circulating a bit at the work place. The co-worker apparently seemed perturbed that the guy on the April issue cover had . . . → Read More: Confusing Johns

Hmm, for not being much of a theatre person, I seem to get the actor’s nightmare a fair amount. So I dreamed last night that I was in some kind of light musical that featured music of the late 50′s/early 60′s (which could be an echo of when I was actually in a production . . . → Read More: Actor’s nightmare again

OMG! This was from the recent White House Correspondence dinner, wherein Stephen Colbert completely and totally roasted George W Bush. I think I want to bear Colbert’s children! Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Here’s a quote from CNN:

Hmm, I vaguely recalled that our National Anthem came from an old English drinking song “To Anacreon in Heaven”. The Straight Dope has an article about that here. Here’s the first verse of the original:
To Anacreon in Heav’n, where he sat in full glee, A few Sons of Harmony sent a petition; That . . . → Read More: More about the Star Spangled Banner

Interesting article about a version of the Star Spangled Banner being released today in Spanish. Several Latin pop stars are recording this, and it seems to be in response to the recent immigration reform stuff. I must admit to being mystified by the controversy over simply singing the song in a different language. Music . . . → Read More: Nuestra Himno

I woke up this morning with a sore throat and very tired, so since work has been slow, I figured I would take the day off to recuperate. I got some much needed sleep, and I also got some stuff done around the house. I was sort of bummed because there is a small . . . → Read More: A mixed bag, and some stress
