Okay, entering fangurl mode here, so be warned! The cast of Brokeback Mountain will be on Oprah this Friday. Check the message board here. Wow! And I thought that there was a lot of gushing at the Datalounge Gossip Forum. Anywho, it looks like it should be nifty episode. I might even tape it.
Plans going well for the movie outing to Tinseltown on Sunday. We figure we will meet at the theatre at 12:30 PM for the 1 PM movie. I mentioned the get together to some first timer folks at Trivia last night. One woman said that her mother wanted to go, so looks like we will have at least mom and daughter combo. Neat! I feel really glad that this is something that we can do together.
I am guessing that BBM and Ang Lee stand a pretty good chance of winning Academy Awards (hopefully others from the cast/crew as well.) I was browsing around and I found out that the film Wings (1927) was the very first movie to win an Academy Award for Best Picture. Interestingly, it also has the distinction of being the first movie to show an on screen male to male kiss. It sounds like the kiss was a platonic, friends sort of thing, but it does show that the past is not always necessarily as most folks expect it to be. (So, after almost 80 years, we are about due for another Oscar winning movie with a male to male kiss!)
The Cocktail Weenies did well again last night. We all had a fun time playing Trivia.
