I have finally decided to seek initiation into the Gardnerian Wiccan tradition. I have been thinking about this for a while, did a few minor Tarot card readings, etc. I have self-identified as Pagan since about 1991. Oddly enough, I had what I thought at the time was a Gardnerian initiation way back in . . . → Read More: Going Gardnerian

Pretty nifty! Canada’s parliament has voted to extend equal marriage rights nationwide, and equal marriage rights just became law in Spain as well. A solid majority favor equal rights in Spain and Canada. Too bad that the US seems to be moving backwards.

Okay, so sometimes it’s pathetic how little it takes to amuse me. I was watching the Daily Show, and they had a commercial for a local business. I was trying to remember if it was the branch my Mom worked at, when they had a shot of her. Most cool! I emailed her that . . . → Read More: Mom on TV!

The Pride Picnic on Saturday went fairly well. We had somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 people, which was about the same/slightly down from last year. Every year I worry about forgetting something major, and this year, I did end up forgetting the poles for the volleyball set. Stupid me! I should have kept . . . → Read More: Picnic and recovery

Slightly whupped here, but doing fine. I took the day off from work to prepare for the Pride Picnic. My friend Brian and I did the annual scamper around the city and pick up stuff. I am really feeling good about how things are shaping up. We got a very nice write up in . . . → Read More: Picnic Preparation

I was out browsing and found a very nice blog that had some hysterically funny photos/commentary for Cavalcade of Bad Nativities and The Passion of the Tchotchke. The humor reminds me of James Lileks Gallery of Regrettable Food, but this is about religious articles of dubious taste. The kicker is that the woman writing . . . → Read More: Nifty religious site

This is a rough week – finishing off the newsletter and preparing for the Pride Picnic should not be in the same week. Oy. Folks came over and folded last night, which wet well. Wes was particularly helpful in taking several distribution stops. Glad to have the newsletters out. I had previously talked with, . . . → Read More: Newsletters done and yenta for Pride Picnic

I had kind of been expecting this, but my cat, Miss Kitty, or k’Itty q’At died yesterday morning. She had been declining for some time. She was previously a roly poly teddy bear, but had been losing muscle mass and her belly swelled. I figured that it was cancer. She seemed to have . . . → Read More: Miss Kitty passes on

Deb and I finished the newsletter this weekend, and I am about to go pick it up for folding tomorrow. I had a small antiseptic fit (a term my family uses to mean a bout of housekeeping), and have the place semi-presentable for folding tomorrow. I had an email from a deaf guy in . . . → Read More: Recovery and warm fuzzies

Deb actually took these. My cat Henry has been known to snooze in an empty shelf in the cupboard. Puck snuggles in the laundry.
