I discovered last night that there weren’t quite enough people going to the Pittsburgh Memorial Day Picnic tomorrow to get the bus to go, so now I will have to drive there. I sent an email to the Menspace list about future events, and tried to see if anyone was up for carpooling. I . . . → Read More: Gay history and a drive to Pittsburgh tomorrow

My grandma has been having problems with her PC being slow/locking up. So, I went over on Wednesday to take a look at it. The guy she has been dating, Mac, also came over. He seemed very nice. It was really frustrating working with Grandma’s PC because it was running so slow, and she . . . → Read More: Geeking for Grandma

The very clever Doug Boldt was able to find out who was behind the smear site Expose Erie Politicians. Read the article here. Local media reported that the site has been taken down because they registered with false info. Surprise! There was a connection with City Hall Solicitor Paul Curry, who is refusing comment. . . . → Read More: Expose Erie Politicians mystery solved

A rather odd phone call. A woman called and was asking for a fax number: Woman: “Hello, what is your fax number? Is this GLBT Campus Matters? We need to fax something to subscribe.” Me: “No this is Erie gay news. We do sometimes handle youth/student stuff, but we aren’t specifically college focused.” Woman: . . . → Read More: Mixed up communications

Last night the Erie Networking Group met at Trance. We are thinking of doing a business expo, so exploring that. Shout Outreach from Gaudenzia was doing HIV testing, and since I was there anyway, I thought I would get the test. I am not particularly personally worried, but figured it would be a good . . . → Read More: HIV test and a silly though

Hmm, the controversy over Expose Erie Politicians seems to be continuing. As pointed out on Erie PA and Life, Doug Boldt has done some very interesting investigation into who might be behind this. So, the question is, what is the connection between this Dino Baskovic, who seems to be behind the site, and did . . . → Read More: More about Expose Erie Politicians

I am really disgusted by the slimy web site Expose Erie. The Erie Times News carried a story about it in today’s paper. An unknown person, who is giving purposely fake information, is basically using anonymous slams against local Democratic political figures. At first, he hadn’t included Erie Mayoral candidate Rick Filippi, but Rick . . . → Read More: “Expose Erie” is crap

File this under Weird Science. Hmm! Probably most of you have seen info about this study about differences in how people react to pheromones based upon gender and sexual orientation. Basically gay men and straight women showed certain types of brain activity in parts of the brain related to sexual activity when exposed to . . . → Read More: The gay nose

Don’t think that the Religious Right is entangled enough yet with politics in general and conservative Republicans in particular? A minister at the East haywood Baptist Church has been excommunicating church members who are Democrats or who failed to vote for Bush. You can read the story here. I find this disgusting!

Sigh. I am so nauseated by closet cases who persecute GLBT people publicly and then refer to their other behavior as “private.” The latest example is this story of antigay Spokane WA mayor James E West, who speaks out against equality of GLBT folks, apparently when he isn’t cruising at GAY.COM. Let me see. . . . → Read More: Another vicious closet case
