When I got home on Thursday, I needed to deposit a check, so I hopped in the car, and headed over to an ATM. At the juncture of W 8th, and the Bayfront Highway, I heard some car load of what sounded like frat boys yelling out “Faggot!” and similar things behind me.
It has been a while since I have experienced anything like that, and it just left me feeling amused. “My, how brilliant we are! I have ONLY done local news spots as an openly GLBT person for over 12 years now. That is the best you can do? Pathetic.”
Okay, so I was recalling how we traditionally take down a circle when doing a Pagan ritual. Typically the High Priestess says “The circle is open, yet remains unbroken. May the peace of the Goddess go with you in your hearts. Merry meet, merry part!” And all say “And Merry meet again!”. Our particular group tends to add “Oh, Mary!” with a fey finger snap. So, if I was following along, I might have looked pretty queeny at that. ![]()
Still, it was rude of them, but also just plain lame/pathetic.
